Technology Manager & Lead Grant Writer
- Manage projects and consultants, as well as software and hardware, for a variety of technology projects designed to improve access to health care coverage in Massachusetts; report directly to the Executive Director.
- Guided the organization through a time of upheaval and critical funding loss to find new funding and to use technology to accomplish mission goals. These innovations radically improved the way the organization works, both internally and externally.
- Designed, wrote and implemented a half-million dollar matching grant awarded to CP by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Technology Opportunities Program.
- Rebuilt CP’s website (www.compartners.org; and newsite.compartners.org due to launch April 2008) multiple times using open-source content management systems. Maintain the site in Drupal.
- Work with content staff to develop new ways of communicating with constituents via the Internet, including the integration of Web 2.0 strategies.
- Provide training and support on hardware and software, internally and for field staff; demystify technology tools for staff.
- Informed and maintained a long-term strategic technology plan for the organization; currently working on an ongoing project to increase online participation among our constituents.
- Research and implement software and hardware solutions as necessary via resources that include the Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (NTEN).
- Served on the steering committee for the 2008 NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference; write occasional blog posts for NTEN.
- Designed, wrote, and edited numerous grant proposals, large ($500K) and small ($1000); the organization is almost entirely grant-funded at this time.

- Rebuilt www.wgbh.org from scratch in a custom-built CMS with a small team of programmers, designers and content producers; implemented complex designs in HTML.
- Compressed and optimized audio and video files for the Web.
- “Translated” technology for less tech-savvy staff members.

- Wrote and edited all marketing copy, managed production of monthly print ads, book jackets, pamphlets, the Web catalog and two annual print catalogs.
