About Me

I live in Western Massachusetts, in a beautiful rural spot by a river with my partner, our toddler, our greyhound and our cat. I began as a writer and an accidental techie, and after a stint building WGBH.org, I crossed over into being a career nonprofit techie.  I help organizations use new Internet tools appropriately to communicate their messages as simply and as clearly as possible, and to better engage their users.

Web Building: I build websites. What does that mean? I take a web design–an image–and transform it into a working website with Web 2.0 capacity. I have built sites in Drupal, Joomla!, Wordpress, and custom CMSs.

Technology Strategy:  I help organizations and companies plan to use technology in smart, strategic ways to increase two-way communication with their users. One of my favorite things to do is to help people understand that they do not have to use every cutting-edge tool to be effective. In fact, there are many times that the Old Skool approach is best. Other times, you may have running room to experiment with the newest widget.

Communication: Writing, with expertise in writing for the web, is my strong suit. An experienced grant writer, I can help you edit and refine your language and messaging for fund raising, online communication and user engagement.
